Neargrid Compact provides reliable, silent and emission-free electrical power for construction sites, reducing grid dependency and diesel use by covering peak loads with fast discharge and intelligent charging.

The Neargrid Compact is a next-generation battery-based power supply designed to provide silent, emission-free and highly reliable power for a wide range of construction site applications. In an industry that is rapidly transitioning to more sustainable and digitised ways of working, the Compact offers a powerful, clean alternative to traditional diesel generators, without compromising on performance or ease of use.

Its intelligent energy management system can be seamlessly integrated with other energy sources, reducing generator runtime and optimising fuel consumption wherever possible.

The jury on NEARGRID compact:

We are all familiar with diesel generators running on a construction site all day long, resulting in noise and emission pollution. The Neargrid Compact was conceived from the perspective of different users, ranging from the transporter to the site worker. Robust and straightforward, uncomplicated, yes, you could even say friendly and accessible, an attractive design for a highly technical engineering product. The generator really does have an impact on our quality of life and the climate; it eliminates a major source of pollution in an urban environment.

What does this award mean to you?

It confirms the value of an integrated design process, starting from the brand strategy.

How did the idea for this project come about?

Discussions with the founder Frank, who recognised the value of a process-driven approach to innovation, and create a future-proof, coherent brand image.

What makes your project so special?

A lot of soft skills in a high-level engineering environment for products that need to stand out on a construction site. Also confirming NEARGRID’s sustainable approach.

How does it contribute to a better world?

Renewable energy in a place that traditionally is extremely polluting: a construction site during the building process.

Do you have any further plans for this project?

To expand the product range with a coherent design signature for maximum recognition and acknowledgement!
